Before setting up your Steinberg UR22C audio interface to work with the JamKazam app, you must first set it up to work properly with/on your Windows computer. To do this, you need to install a piece of software called a "driver" that was developed by Steinberg. This software driver controls the operation of the audio interface hardware as it interacts with your Windows computer. Following are instructions on how to: (1) download the latest/greatest version of the software driver for your UR22C, and yes it's important that you use the latest version of the driver software; and (2) install the software driver on your Windows computer.
To get started, open your browser, and go to https://www.steinberg.net/en/support/downloads_hardware/yamaha_steinberg_usb_driver.html. Click the "Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver" link under the Windows logo (pictured below with arrow).
You will see the driver file downloaded through your browser in the way your browser typically downloads files from websites (pictured below with arrow). Click the downloaded file to open it.
You now see a folder opened and displaying the downloaded zip file (pictured below with arrow). Double-click this file folder icon.
You now see the files included in the download. Double-click the "setup.exe" file to start the Steinberg installer (pictured below with arrow). When you do this, you will likely see a Windows prompt asking if you want to give permission for the Steinberg installer to make changes to your computer. Please click "Yes" to all the installer to run.
You now see the first screen of the Steinberg installer. Click the Next button (pictured below with arrow).
You now see the next screen of the Steinberg installer. Click the "I accept the agreement" radio button to accept the Steinberg software license terms. Then click the Next button (pictured below with arrow).
The Steinberg installer runs, and you see the last screen of the installer. Click the Finish button (pictured below with arrow).
You have now successfully installed the Steinberg UR22C Windows software driver.
